Counterbell is in early access. Right now the only thing that handles your data is the demo on the home page. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to what you type into it.
The messages you paste into the demo
- When you press Analyse messages, your business details and the text of each customer message are sent to Anthropic's API, where Claude reads them and sends back the analysis. The customer names before each message stay in your browser and are not sent.
- When you open a message to see a drafted reply, your business details, that one message and the customer's first name are sent to Claude so the reply can greet them.
- We don't store any of it. Your details, messages and replies pass through our server on the way to Claude and back, and are not saved, logged or kept anywhere by us. Close the page and they're gone.
- We don't build customer profiles, and we don't use what you paste in for marketing, training or anything else.
Please don't paste sensitive personal data. Leave out phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, health details, payment details and anything else you wouldn't want to share. The sample café messages are there so you can try it without using real ones.
Anthropic
The analysis and replies are made by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, using its commercial API. Anthropic handles that data under its Commercial Terms and Privacy Policy, which do not allow it to train its models on content sent through the API.
Usage limits
To keep the demo free and stop it being misused, each visitor gets 3 analyses and 10 drafted replies a day. To count them, we store a one-way hash of your IP address with a request counter. It contains nothing you typed, and it is deleted automatically within 48 hours.
Hosting, fonts and cookies
- The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from attacks.
- The Geist font is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when the page loads.
- We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
If you email us
If you email [email protected] for early access, we keep your email address and message so we can reply and let you know when Counterbell opens. Ask us to delete them any time.
Your rights and contact
You have rights under the GDPR, including to ask what we hold about you and to have it deleted. Because the demo doesn't store your messages, there is usually nothing to delete. For any privacy question, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission.
Counterbell is run by Rhys Foley in Dublin, Ireland.
